what a let down......

Post  Termite on Sun Apr 04, 2010 7:32 pm

well not a lot of activity on here...
loads of visitors though, probably just being nosey...well you are being monitored Smile

come on lads lets get registered and lets start chatting without fear of being blocked or banned for your own opinion.

whats you views on local CB ??

Nottingham is crap...same old half dozen chatting sh1t on 19....scanners, wires, 446, pork pies and other boring crap, still there are only 79 channels left to use, and the other bands they can legally use so lets just sit on 19 chatting sh1t all day....

then they moan when someone plays music on 19 to drown out their voices, yet are quite happy when they play music themselves...

no wonder CB is dead in nottingham, just sit back and look at yourselves on 19........i know i have recently and when i do turn on, i just turn it back off.......

i can't hear if any body new has come on due to all the local yocals inbreeding on 19, so when they shut up or figure out how to understand frequency displays i might hear someone different..!!!!
but for now it's back to bed......

How about a mention in Citizens' Bandwidth Magazine and on the Websites?

The latest issue will cover CB radio on Facebook, and we had planned to do Web sites - but forums could be put first if you think it would help.

On the subject of CB use, it seems fine up here (J29a).

Regards, Peter.

hi peter..
just the local area in Nottingham is bad, there seems to be around a dozen of active users, but the conversation is that of a 10 year old, or a gathering at the local special needs day center (no offence intended)

sentences of 'yeah' and 'oh right then' and 'ok then' are about the length with chats on 19 that would make watching paint dry seem interesting..

the forums is not so much of a nationwide thing, but was mearly put up for the locals,
the website http://ukcb.tripod.com is the worldwide thing, with regular hits from the US, Canada, Scotland and all over the world and parts of the UK, so the streaming is certainly working...!!1

Channel 19

Post  ninjabilly on Mon May 03, 2010 6:28 pm

Yeah, the comments are spot on about cb in nottingham, being a fairly newbie,I still am enjoying all this radio stuff, but with lack of people using it,You do tend to get stuck in a rut a bit,but like you say, theres 80 channels.I have been using euro channels quite a bit,and found quite a bit of activity,so variety is the best policy,if you sit on 19 all the time, you soon become one of the "locals".It`s suprising how many different contacts you can get if you twiddle with all those fancy knobs and switches on our fancy radios!Try it peeps,it works for me!
Cheers all

I know of a couple of groups who use the CEPT/EU 40 simply to get away from the idiots..

and many years ago there were better and more contacts to be had on the CEPT/EU 40 too..

i listen around from time to time, but mostly i monitor two or three channels, 19 NOT being one of them Smile

roll on the skip..

To be honest mark it dont bother me 19`s on in the background when im on pc usually, aint settled on a rig for the car yet(though ive mentioned one is on its way on another forum)so car set ups still temporary-pissed me off about that audioline really its a good set that.

Will be gettin a half wave silver rod up at some point but will be mobile first, bought coax other wk for here-as it aint my house though persuading the folks it wont look stupid(again) on a bungalow is still a touchy subject.

So for the record i dont mind the chat on 19 (though cant hear all of it)can hear a few notts breakers which is suprising on a sirio mythos 9000 mag on a radiator inside lol.

well on the Audioline, i'm going to change it's chip with one from a midband rig i have, just to prove it's that, if it is then you'll need a new PLL, something i don't have laying around.

as for the silver rod, it's not that bad, and you don't see them when you look at the ground..!!
it's also not as loud as the thunderpole either..!! let them know that Smile
