Happy new year

Post  ninjabilly on Sat Jan 01, 2011 12:52 pm

Hi all, happy new year to all,not that anyone uses this! well, you`re probably all aware of the state of local cb at present, same old people, same old subjects,in fact,if you switch on at 7 in the morning and listen all day,you will hear the same conversations over and over,by the same few people, been the same for the last three months or so!!! anyway, these few people are enjoying themselves anyway, thats what cb is all about, right?too many eyeballs if you ask me,falling out everday, etc etc, but,i`m sure many others realise there is a multitude of channels/frequencies to choose from, and you may be suprised at some of the activity on them.Anyway, thats me first gripe of the year over,oh yeah, whats with everyone going power mad all of a sudden?most of them have shit setups anyway! burners just make them more shittier!! ha ha,thats all folks
By for now

i hear you billy my friend.
i have been listening to the antics on our beloved channel 1-9 and am disgusted in my findings.
total disregard to other users and long time users of CB.
who the hell are all these stupids on there at the moment?
there is that 'rambo' or 'toy solder' what a pratt he sounds, he reminds me of that bull shit one off channel 32.
if the pratt hasn't done he knows a man that has.

then the rest of them, they all sound like they have drink or drugs problems, and to think nottingham CBers used to be respected and all look out for one another, oh how i'm wrong.

there seems to be a few hangers on to one or two top dogs, who seem to be running the channel, the rest seem to be just lemmings following over the big cliff, who is the McDonalds family?
and the bloke that does all the shouting? he sounds a few bob short of a pound.
and the 'let down' these people all come across as been there done thats but non seem to know anything about CB or it's correct uses and procedures.

what a joke..so billy my biker buddy, i'll bid you a farewell 10-10 for now and i'll keep my mic unplugged for the time being, i'm going back to listening to the amateurs..

10-10 for now, another Nottingham CBer down and gone.

well after reading through pretty much all of this forum, i could almost be dis-heartened.....

But nah Very Happy I'm ever hopeful of what may come to pass in my future CB adventures (i'm waiting for my first rig to arrive) There must be decent breakers out there. probably a whole load of em who are dis-illusioned by the activities of a minority and just listening in disbelief to a bunch of idiots taking over 19 (or such is the impression i get from the board) I'm kinda hoping that more activity from some nice lads and lasses can start to swing things the other way Very Happy

are they messing up all the channels or just 19?
I know i'm new at this, and i could be about to say sommit really stoopid, but can't we just use anouther channel and leave the idiots on 19? I know 19 is the common calling channel, but it seems pretty crap that a handfull of idiots can push the genuine community so far aside that they consider leaveing al together.

this is how it goes...
everyone uses ch19
if you move off ch19 others follow, either take over your channel cause grief.
people have said for months lets use other channels, but saying and doing are two different things, people don't like to 'do' in case they miss something on ch19.
a lot of the people on 19 are only there to listen for the show, listen to the few making fools of themselves or trouble being caused, it's this show people don't want to miss..

and when you consider some people, myself include have spent £100's if not £1000's on CB and amateur radios to sit on ch19 it's a waste..

i wish you luck in coming onto CB, but my advice is and always will be, watch who you talk to, and watch who you invite round your house or meet up with..there are some you will regret talking to and others you'll regret you ever met..
and the biggest piece of advice, watch what you say, don't give away to many of your personal secrets, once anything no matter how small gets out, you won't hear the last of it..!!

Thanks a lot for the advise, sounds like the voice of experience there.

Seems such a shame that a few can wreck something for the many.

Like i said in another post, mine will be mounted in my car, and mostly used to convoy to events with a few mates. but I always like to "meet" new people, hense me joining on here. But a career in computing and internet has already guarded me against giving out too much information. Good advice all the same matey Very Happy

lol, just spent the last few minutes listening....
think i'll play on other channels lol

If channel 19 is the general calling / truckers channel, shouldn't they take their family annecdotes and bitchin to an alt channel?
or am i missing a chunk of etiquette here?

You're correct Yetii, they should move to another channel but they think everyone wants to hear their crap on the 19.

I got my radio a couple of months ago for mobile use but it was wasted, not being used much, so put it indoors. At the moment I just sit and listen, have spoke to a couple but not many.
